I’m Nihal, from Turkey. I am 21 years old and I am a psychologist. I started volunteering with CIM Horyzonty about 2 months ago and during this period I had the chance to attend a Eurocamp in Germany and work on a Forum Theater training course in Jarosławki as part of the logistics team. In this process, I met people from many countries and got an idea about their cultures.
It is exciting to work with children at our local partners’ schools in Poznań; we also learn a lot with them. It is a great experience to contribute to their language development and introduce our own cultures through playing games and fun activities. I believe that growing up surrounded by diversity will open their horizons and make them more open-minded. Thanks to CIM Horyzonty, we are also provided with a Polish language course and we are learning the local language, which is a lot of fun. Walking in the streets, catching some words in Polish and trying to understand something from them gives me the feeling of solving a puzzle.
I can’t wait to see what will happen in the next months …
