Eyes Tools

EYES Tools was the "Esteem of Young Europeans Self Tools" KA153 project under the Erasmus plus program. The primary goal of the project was to develop and equip youth workers with non-formal education tools and competences to support young people in building their positive self-esteem and engaging in preventive activities related to body image and discrimination. The project centers on the idea that self-esteem is crucial for young people to understand how the "ideal" body image prevalent in media affects their body acceptance and life choices. Working on self-confidence tools was therefore seen as a key component of preventive youth work, as a lack of self-acceptance can often lead to risky behavior.

Project Objectives:

  • Increase Youth Worker Competences: To increase the competences of youth workers in supporting young people to build positive self-esteem.
  • Raise Awareness on Discrimination: To raise awareness on the topic of body shape and size discrimination and its negative consequences on the lives of young people.
  • Share Tools and Best Practices: To share practical tools, resources, and best practices among partner organizations to effectively address the issue of self-esteem in youth work and prevention.

The project’s activities, including a training course and a seminar, were designed to combine professional knowledge from Diversity, Equality and Inclusion, Mental Wellbeing, and Non-formal and Sexual Education in Youth Work.
