I’m Kamila Lenczewska and I’ve been organizing and hosting volunteer exchanges within the European Solidarity Corps for 20 years. I’ve been a volunteer myself, as well as a mentor and coordinator, so I know the system inside out.

VOLUNTEER AT HOCHDREI

As a volunteer, you can spend a year with us, collaborating on international civic education projects, helping to shape them and implementing your own ideas. Volunteering is carried out as part of the European Solidarity Corps. This program covers all living expenses for the duration of your stay.

📖Tasks

  • welcoming guests / introducing them to the seminary house
  • assisting in the care of project participants and guests of the house
  • acting as a contact person for younger guests
  • organizational support for seminars and meetings in our house
  • supporting our team in self-organization during projects for children and young people (explaining the pedagogical concept, supporting people)
  • looking after younger children aged 2 to 8 while their parents participate in our seminars
  • preparing seminar rooms, providing seminar equipment, materials, etc.
  • Providing information about Potsdam and the region
  • Assisting the team during the events
  • Implementing your own ideas

🧐What We’re Looking For

  • aged 18 to 30
  • identification with the main themes of the association
  • openness, willingness to learn and try new things
  • enjoyment of working with children and young people
  • willingness to work occasionally on weekends or evenings at
  • events/seminars (in exchange for days off during the week)

💡 Good to know

  • free accommodation in a one-room apartment in Berlin
  • monthly allowance of €7 per day and an additional €320 per month for food
  • during your stay, you will receive a monthly ticket for public transport
  • Working hours depend on whether there is a seminar at a given time or whether you are working in the office that day. The average working time is 30 hours per week. You will receive hours/days off for overtime worked during the week or on weekends.
  • 24 days of vacation are granted for 12 months of volunteering

🎨 Project Description

We are looking for volunteers for an upcoming short-term volunteering project with Open Cultural Center in Greece. The project will begin on 2 April and will last for two months, and we are actively looking for participants who can join this flow. We are especially, but not exclusively, looking for the volunteers who are identified as having fewer opportunities.

This initiative is part of the European Solidarity Corps – Volunteering in High-Priority Teams, where groups of 10 volunteers from different countries participate simultaneously, creating a highly intercultural and collaborative environment.


💡 What We’re Looking For

  • Good level of English and/or Greek.
  • Specific age (18-30 years old)
  • Being easy-going and eager to work in an intercultural, autonomous environment.
  • Being motivated, proactive, open-minded, creative, and self-reliant.
  • Available to share an apartment and bedroom with other volunteers (shared rooms with exclusively same-sex/gender volunteers).
  • Training and/or experience in teaching and education is an asset.

💡What is Moby Dick?

“Moby Dick ETS” takes the name from the famous white whale of H. Melville’s book “Moby Dick ETS” is an NGO based in Salerno (Italy) and founded in 2005 Moby Dick operates in 3 fields: activities related to young people and European mobility, innovative teaching and non-formal education, participation of young people in democratic life. Since 2011 Moby Dick ETS promotes European mobility projects such as Erasmus KA1, Structured Dialogue KA3 and ESC projects

MAPAR: A Vibrant Space for Young Adults (16–30) 🌍

MAPAR in Redon offers young people the chance to rent a flat 🏡, get help with daily life and housing tasks, and co-create activities like language cafés, green projects, and intercultural events.

Every year, we host 10 ESC volunteers who help support youth, plan events, and develop their own creative projects.


What’s Included:

  • €7.50/day food allowance + €8/day pocket money
  • Bike rental for €5/month (covered by MAPAR) 🚲
  • Train station 10 min walk away — Redon is less than 1h from Rennes & Nantes
  • Shared flat with other volunteers or locals

Training & Support:

  • Youth project management, budgeting, and more
  • 2h/week French classes + Online Linguistic Support
  • Guidance from the ESC coordinator

Volunteer Profile:

  • Must have a driver’s licence and feel safe driving in France

Kulturlabor Stromboli is a vibrant cultural venue in Hall in Tirol, a charming town near Innsbruck. Founded in 1989 by a youth group, our goal is to connect local artists and promote cultural events across the region. With over 150 events a year — from concerts, parties, theatre, cabarets, literature readings, to popular children’s programs and open-air events — Stromboli is one of Austria’s most diverse creative hubs.

Our lively bar is a favorite spot and a base for the local youth scene.


🏞 About Hall in Tirol

Hall is a picturesque town with 13,500 residents, located in the Inn Valley just 10 km east of Innsbruck. Known for its beautiful medieval architecture and rich salt trade history, Hall is now a buzzing town filled with shops, cafés, and bars. As an ESC volunteer at Kulturlabor Stromboli, you’ll get hands-on experience with all aspects of running an independent cultural venue. Your tasks may include: working in the office, deal with reservations, social media, public relations, they distribute posters, prepare the guest room or the catering for artists, record videos and fotos from our events, help us at the coffee-bar and even more!

Plus, you’ll have the chance to create your own projects that match your interests and our program.

Weekly Hours: 30–38 hours over 5 days

Main Mission: Promote cultural diversity & bring people together. Activities Include:

🌍 Join Auryn Association as a Long-Term ESC Volunteer in Spain!

Auryn Association is looking for 6 ESC volunteers for a long term project which will take place from October 2024 to August 2025 in León, Spain.

Auryn Association is a youth organisation in charge of managing different mobility opportunities for young people, such as volunteering, youth exchanges or training courses. The aim of our projects, in which our different mobility opportunities are framed, are the promotion of interculturality, Human Rights education and Non-Formal Education.


🏠 Accommodation & Living

We will provide two apartments appropriated for the basic needs of the whole volunteering team. Each of the apartments has:

  • three single rooms
  • a bathroom
  • a living room and a kitchen

The apartments are located close to the host organizations and the city center. However, the project will cover local transportation costs if necessary.


💸 Financial Support

Additionally, we’ll provide a weekly allowance for food for each volunteer. Apart from covering the apartment and the allowance, the European Solidarity Corps Project provides a quantity as pocket money for the volunteers to use for their own expenses.

VOLUNTEER AT CHALLEDU

👋 Join us for 3 months to create a change in the local community and develop useful skills, with the support of the European Union.

You are:

  • 18 to 30 years old
  • Citizen of EU or EU partner countries
  • Motivated to participate in interactive workshops
  • Open to working with individuals from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds, including people with disabilities, dementia, refugees and youth

🔍 The daily activities of the ESC volunteering opportunity consist of organising and implementing workshops for target groups, using Canva, holding discussions on social issues, creating games for social change, supporting events organised by Challedu and partner organisations. Your personal motivation and unique skills will guide the course of this project, in align with Challedu’s aims!

You will be provided with accommodation in a house within reach of public transport, with a shared room (same gender arrangements if needed), kitchen, living room, heating etc. Your pocket money will be 7 euros per day and your food and public transport tickets will be covered as well.

Υou will take part in training opportunities through Challedu’s projects. The Greek national agency is providing Training Sessions in order to gain valuable insights for the ESC experience and connect with fellow ESC volunteers. A mentor will be appointed to you by Challedu. Think of them as a person to show you around and be your buddy in the first steps of the way! Moreover, there are Greek lessons offered by the OLS platform. At the end of the project you will receive a Youthpass, essentially, a certificate of your volunteering experience.

The participants should have experience in working with people with disabilities, seniors, youth or have high motivation to be engaged, strong initiatives to organise and implement workshops in the local community, be open to different cultures.
